Meet the Team

Dr. Hakim Serhrouchni, founder of West Village Eyecare Optometry practice began his specialized studies at Descartes College in Rabat, Morocco where he received his Bachelors Degree in mathematics and science.

He went on to Tours University of Medicine in France to study Optometry. Dr. Serhrouchni furthered his studies at the Center Of Optometry in Belgium and at the Institute of Audiology in Brussels. In 1991 Dr. Serhrouchni moved to the United States where he proceeded to further his education at Suny College of Optometry in New York and graduated with a doctorate degree.

In 1998 Dr. Serhrouchni opened his own practice in New York City and founded West Village Eyecare. Using cutting edge technology, applying his international knowledge, and years of experience, Dr. Serhrouchni has become one of the most prominent and influential doctors in his field. His expertise and personalized patient care practices are highly regarded both in the United States and internationally. Dr. Serhrouchni is an active member of The American Optometric Association and The New York Optometric Association.

Dr. Joel Go is a dedicated optometrist who concentrates on thecomprehensive management of his patients' ocular health and visual needs.He acquired his doctorate at SUNY College of Optometry and completedrotations at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, SUNY's specialty contact lensservice, and a private practice in Upper Manhattan. He is trained in thediagnosis and management of ocular disease, including diabetic retinopathy,age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye disease. Hespecializes in the fitting of specialty contact lenses, including scleraland orthokeratology lenses. He is an active member of the AmericanOptometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association, andhas presented at specialty contact lens conferences.

Dr. Go is a native of Vancouver, Canada. Prior to joining West VillageEyecare Associates he attended the University of British Columbia, majoringin Biology. He takes great pride in providing exceptional patient care withthe latest in optometric advancements.

 Dr. Larissa Ramilo is a first-generation Filipino American born in New York City and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She attended Texas A&M University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. She moved on to University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree.  

Dr. Larissa completed her clinical externships at Cedar Springs Community Clinic and Plaza Vision Eyecare both in Dallas, TX. She is experienced in treating and managing both anterior and posterior ocular diseases, prescribing specialty lenses, and providing personalized primary optometry care. Additionally, she has prior experience providing eye care to both adult and pediatric patients with special needs. Her diverse background allows for her to easily relate to and connect with patients of different backgrounds. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York Optometric Association. 

Outside of work, she enjoys trying new cuisines in NYC with her partner and staying active. She is an advocate for mental health awareness as well as physical wellness. Dr. Larissa is eager to offer attentive and considerate eye care for her patients at West Village Eyecare Associates!

Dr. Kimberly Chiconelli is a dedicated and compassionate optometrist who concentrates on the comprehensive management of patients' ocular health and visual needs. She acquired her doctorate at SUNY College of Optometry and completed rotations at West Point's Keller Hospital, Gouverneur Hospital in NYC, and in a private practice in Inwood. In her training, she has treated a diverse population of patients of all ages.

Before pursuing her passion for optometry, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from New York University and worked for many years as a retinal angiographer, photographer, and technician in ophthalmology retina clinics such as Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She takes great pride in providing excellent patient care and keeping up to date with the latest advances in optometry. 

Outside of work, Dr. Chiconelli enjoys spending her leisure time traveling, exploring new restaurants in NYC, and spending quality time with her husband and son.
