She obtained her doctorate degree in optometry from New England College of Optometry in 1999. She has been on staff at the Ophthalmology Department at St. Barnabas Hospital since 2001. She also has worked as a contact lens specialist at the Corneal and Refractive Surgery of New York and co-managed pre and post-operative lasik patients for numerous years. She resides with her husband and daughter in Greenwich Village.
