Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye condition that damages to the optic nerve. The optic nerve located in the back of your eye. Most often, the damage stems from high ocular pressure. Some of the symptoms you may experience from it included blurred vision or a decrease in side vision toward the end stage.
With glaucoma, we may intervene with eye drops, such as ones that reduce eye pressure in your eye to stop or slow further damage to the optic nerve. Eye exams are one of the main defenses against glaucoma because they can help us detect the problem early so you can get it treated hopefully before you have any vision loss.
Cataracts
Cataracts is an eye condition that causes the lens of your eye to become clouded. It often happens as you age. If you have cataracts, you may experience halos around light. Colors may appear faded or yellow. Sometimes, you'll have a sensitivity to light or glare. You may notice you have frequent changes in your eyewear prescription, as your lens becomes more clouded and your vision is reduced more. Our optometrist will assess you for this condition an eye exam.
Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is another eye condition we can treat. This particular eye condition causes you to lose your vision over time due to problems with the macula. It causes central vision loss, and it might begin as blurred vision.
This condition won't cause complete blindness but it does affect your central vision, which makes it difficult for you to read or perform other up-close work. You may also have difficulty seeing faces. You could lose your ability to drive as a result of it.
